PROJECT!

This past weekend I worked on a project I have been wanting to complete for years!

This is my dresser I have been using for as long as I can really remember. It was a hand-me-down from my aunt and is still in pretty good condition. I have been interested in refinishing it, especially updating the hardware for quite some time. I checked out new hardware, but couldn't find anything nice enough that was the same size and would cover wear and tear made by the old handles.

Close up you can see it is pretty beat up, but has a nice antique look.
So this weekend I got to work! I used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to clean up some scuff marks and then worked on painting.
supplies:
Spray paint for the hardware, sandpaper, sample paint for trim, old eye make-up brush to use for painting.
Finished Product:
I think the handles look awesome! The spray paint has a great texture to it and it stuck really well to the metal hardware.
I did my best to paint the trim evenly, but I kinda think the roughed up look goes with the rest of the dresser. Overall it def. brightens it up some. Maybe one day I will sand and re-paint the entire dresser, but for now I think this is a good update.

It will look awesome in the guest bedroom that I'm decorating with Black, silver, red and white.
